Intel Teach to the Future Program
- Over 650,000 teachers in 26
countries have completed trainings.
- By 2003, one million teachers
in 28 or more countries will have participated.
The
Intel Teach to the Future program was built on the successes
of the 1998 and 1999 Intel Applying Computers in Education (ACE)
Project.
During 1998 and 1999, the Intel ACE Project trained over 3,300
teachers in communities where Intel Corporation had major facilities
and where Intel has been active in supporting public schools.
These communities were Santa Clara and Folsom (CA), Hillsboro
(OR), Dupont (WA), Rio Rancho (NM), Chandler (AZ), Hudson (MA),
Washington D.C., and Fort Worth (TX).
The Intel ACE Project was very successful. Teachers created
over
2,300 lessons, which integrated technology into their existing
curriculum. In addition, over 95% of the participants at each
of the training sites reported that they had learned new skills,
which would directly benefit their students. For a summary of
